History
The Canyon is GMC’s midsize pickup truck, available in Regular Cab, Extended Cab, and Crew Cab versions. For the 2004 model year the Canyon replaced the Sonoma which was one of the first domestically built compact trucks when it was introduced in 1982 as the S-15. The name was changed to Sonoma for the 1992 model year. The 2006 GMC Canyon offers an available ZQ8 Sport Suspension with 17-inch aluminum wheels, high-pressure monotube shocks, quick-ratio power steering, and body-color fender flares. The SLT is offered in Extended Cab and Crew Cab versions and two new exterior colors are added: Stealth Gray Metallic and Superior Blue Metallic.
