The 4.0 litre Plus 8 takes major steps forward in several areas of particular interest to American enthusiasts. All USA specification Morgans are equipped with depowered driver and passenger side airbags. This development has in turn brought a large number of improvements to the interior of the car. Headroom is increased by 2, and legroom a maximum of 6. The doors have been lengthened 2 to improve ingress and egress. The instrument panel has been recessed slightly, and the control stalks modernised. The windshield is now electrically heated for defrost/demist.
